It’s 7:30 am on Monday morning and the dreaded iPhone alarm rings in my ear( I think we can all agree that this sound has given us P.T.S.D.) I groggily reach my hand to my nightstand and hit “end” button as I sigh and ponder whether I should give myself 5 more minutes or get up now. What comes after this debate is teeth brushing, a eucalyptus shower, and my standard work makeup routine. My everyday makeup routine for my corporate job is different than the routine I had in college. In college I wore much more makeup on a daily basis and I was more adventurous with liner and colors. These days, my focus is to look like myself, but more well-rested and fresh faced.
Here are my everyday makeup products:
Concealer: Most days I skip foundation and instead use concealor underneath my eyes to make me look more awake. I’ve been loving the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer because it has medium coverage but doesn’t look cakey and unnatural. This concealer comes in 30 shades and makes it so easy to find a shade that works best for you.
Powder: I set my concealer and the rest of my face with a light finishing powder that gives very minimal coverage and keeps my skin from getting oily. I like to use the Maybelline Fit Me powder because it’s cheap and gets the job done. I love the Fit Me line because they have so many shades and the product is great for the price.
Brow Wiz and Gel: I didn’t think I would ever be this type of person, but I have fully become that girl that fills in her brows on a daily basis. Honestly, it’s life changing and I don’t know how I waited so long to add this to my routine. I use Anastasia Beverly Hills brow wiz in “dark brown” to lightly fill in my brows. After that, I take Maybelline clear mascara to keep my unruly brows in place.
Eye shadow: I normally don’t go crazy with eye shadow when I go to work. Normally, I’ll either brush my Morphe bronzer across my lids or use a bronze/brown shade in the Tarte Winter Wonderglam palette (limited edititon).
Mascara: Half the time i’ll skip both eye shadow and mascara. However, when I do decide to look a little more glam I like to use the cult favorite Too Faced Better than Sex mascara. I love how this product opens up my eyes and makes me look feminine and awake.
Blush: If you want to look alive, wear blush. My blush hack is using a lipstick or cream blush instead of a powder. My go to is Lancome lipstick in shade Vintage Rose. A cream blush looks much more natural and sticks onto the skin better, leaving you looking flushed and pretty all day.
