It’s only March and 2020 has already been quite the year. Aside from natural disasters, unexpected celebrity deaths, and a pandemic, I’ve also had various changes in my personal life that have made me realize it’s time to reevaluate where life is going and make sure that I’m living on my own terms and not letting life just happen to me. I’ve decided to dedicate time everyday towards personal growth and self care, focusing on living authentically and chasing what makes me happy. My goal is to create (emphasis on “create”) a life that I love and have chosen for myself. While I’m practicing social distancing and working remotely, I’ve created a list of aspects on my life I’d like to improve and ways I will improve them. Hopefully these help you on your journey and if you have any tips please feel free to let me know in the comment section.
- Live Authentically This is something that I’ve been struggling with for some time. Although I do follow my own path, my studying of personal development has opened my eyes to the fact that I still have a long way to go. I’d like to get to a place where I can live completely freely and not be paralyzed by the fear of what other people think. How great would it be to make decisions that you know are right for you and not even for a second consider what other people (even those closest to you) would think? Tom Bilyeu’s series Impact Theory on YouTube has helped me so much in this journey. Impact Theory features various entrepreneurs and thought leaders, and explores their mindsets to uncover their secrets to success.
- Spend More Time Doing What I Love When I really sit and think about what I do all day, I realize that I do very little of what I truly love and I have no excuse for it! Nowadays, I’d say most of us spend our time scrolling through social media and watching videos on YouTube instead of going out and enjoying what life has to offer. This year (and every year) I want to make an effort to spend my days doing what I love. This includes petting goats at local farms, trying new restaurants, exploring new towns, engaging in conversations with my friends, and more. We’d all be a little happier and kinder if we spent more time doing what we love.
- Build My Blog Ever since I was young I’ve loved writing. As I’ve gotten older and began to follow various bloggers and Youtubers I’ve admired their lifestyle and career path. I love sharing and connecting with others so why not do it everyday on my blog?
- Adopt a Healthier Lifestyle In recent years I’ve become more health conscious. I exercise on a weekly basis and have become more mindful of what I put in my body. In 2020 I’d like to continue this by cutting back on dairy and meat and practicing meditation. We only get one body and one life so why not treat it like the temple it is and make sure it’s getting the care that it needs. This year I’ve visited various vegan restaurants and tried dairy alternatives that I’d love to share with you all.
