Brené Brown is a professor, storyteller, researcher, and author. She wears many hats and wears them courageously and authentically. During lockdown I decided to order a bunch of growth oriented books (because what better to do when the world is on pause?). I ordered Brown’s book Braving the Wilderness: The Quest for True Belonging and the Courage to Stand Alone because after watching her on The Marie Forleo podcast, I knew I needed to know more about her and her research on courage, so that maybe I too could carry myself unapologetically also. Brown’s words have inspired me to be courageously me. Courage to be yourself is extremely scary, very few people show the world who they truly are out of fear of being ostracized. While I still struggle with this, I hope that soon I too will have the courage to always be true to myself.
Some of my favorite quotes from Brené Brown
“Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.”
“Authenticity is the daily practice of letting go of who we think we’re supposed to be and embracing who we are.”
“It takes tremendous courage to knowingly walk into hard moments.”
“Contribute more than you criticize.”
“When we deny the story, it defines us. When we own the story, we can write a brave new ending.”
I hope Brené’s words inspire you to be a little braver. Comment below which quote inspired you the most!

I love the “contribute more than you criticise” one because it is so easy to criticise instead of changing what bothers you.
