The Weekend In Photos: Bike Rides and Nyack, NY

Hey guys! I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. The weather in New Jersey was great this weekend, it finally wasn’t so hot, so I decided to take advantage of the weather. Lately the weather has been 90 degrees and the sun has been scotching hot. I love spending time outdoors so it was nice to be able to spend the day outside without burning. On Saturday I went on a bike ride at a nearby park with my family. I normally only ride my bike near my house so it was nice to go somewhere different. I haven’t really been riding my bike much in general so it was really nice to get back into it this weekend. Riding clears my head and makes me feel happy. I love putting my headphones in, zoning out and going for a ride. It’s also a really great form of exercise. Lately I’ve bene getting a little bored of my workouts so it was nice to switch it up with a bike ride.

On Sunday I hung out with my friend in Nyack, NY and this was much needed. Lately, the craziness of the world has kind of gotten to me so it was really nice to sit by the water and talk to a friend. Isn’t it funny how sitting by water is so therapeutic? It makes everything a little better. We talked about so many different things and I’m so grateful to have a friend who I can talk to about anything. One thing we discussed was how negative social media has been lately. I feel like I can’t go on Twitter without listening to people complain. I think social media in general has become toxic because too many people are too focused on other people’s lives and aren’t focused on themselves. It’s exhausting to see people assume the worst of each other. I don’t think humans are meant to be exposed to so many different opinions all the time. This upcoming week I’d like to focus my time on what matters. Whether it’s my work, friends, relationship, family, ect, I would much rather focus on what’s important instead of falling into the trap of complaints. We’re living in an extremely crazy and historic time but it is still important to remember the good and focus on that. There is still so much work that needs to be done in the world and we need to actively make a change. I believe we can do that without pointing fingers. It’s important to be apart of the solution and not part of the problem. If you’re complaining on line but not making any other effort to change things, you’re not helping. You’re only adding negative energy. I’d love to hear what you guys think of this so please feel free to start a conversation in the comments.

My goal for this upcoming week is to be more intentional with my days. Intentionality makes the biggest difference and it is the thing standing between me and my goals. This week I would like to journal each day and to mediate more often. I want quiet time so I can get more in touch with myself and figure out what I want for my future. Who knows, maybe I’ll spend another day contemplating life by the water!

What did you guys do this weekend? What are your plans for the upcoming week? Comment below!
