Ahh, productivity. The thing that feels so good that we are willing to kill ourselves over it. We will strive to feel productive even if it means we miss out on sleep, food, exercise, and loving relationships. Half the time we’re chasing the feeling, not the action itself. I can look back on times when I have gotten up early, gotten dressed, bought a venti iced coffee, and sat at a desk just so I could procrastinate and daydream. I woke up and went through the motions of being productive but didn’t have any actual work to show for it. It is important to be productive and conquer your goals but if you’re doing it 24/7 at the expense of your sanity, it’s time to unplug (especially if you’re not actually doing much at all). You can’t give the world the best version of you if you’re constantly wearing yourself thin. If you’re craving a relaxing, unplugged day but don’t want to spend money going to a spa or some other costly luxury, there are plenty of ways you can unplug at home. It is important to give yourself time away from the race of the world and spend time concentrating on and loving yourself.
Meditate in the morning

Proper meditation will allow you to be more focused and present. When you meditate you free yourself from the noise of the world and allow yourself to be happy and clear minded. Each day we fill our brains with so much unnecessary chatter. We consume an overload of media and therefore have difficultly shedding the content that we have consumed. This will leaves people distracted and unable to focus on their own life and goals. Meditation will clear your mind and body of the mental chatter that holds you back.
Clean your space
Clean space, clean mind. Instead of letting your space fill up with clutter, take time to sort through your belongings and get rid of the items that no longer serve you. You could throw it out, donate it, or send it to a friend! You’ll feel much more organized when you free up your space and only make room for the things that you truly want.
Drink detox water

Drinking water is great for your body, it keeps you hydrated, healthy, and able to function at your highest ability. However, if you want a little extra cleansing try lemon and mint infused water. Lemon and mint aids in weight loss, is a great source of antioxidants, and will help your body to maintain energy.
Get moving
Nothing cleans you out quite like a good sweat! I always feel so much healthier when I move my body and sweat. I love exercising in the morning so that I can start my day feeling lighter and more energized. It feels great to release the water weight and toxins from your body. Another great way to get a good sweat is by sitting in a sauna or steaming your face. This is a great step to add post workout for a little extra body detox.
Clearing your mind and body of toxins is an incredibly light and freeing feeling. It is a form of self care that deserves to be scheduled into your life. You will find yourself living on a higher level when you add this step of intentionality into your life. While some of these tips can be incorporated into your daily life, others may be more convenient to do on a weekly or monthly basis. It’s okay to play around with these tips and plan them in a way that is most helpful for you.

I totally agree! I took a stress management class in college and my professor had us meditate every class. It was amazing. I felt so much healthier and levelheaded
