As the air becomes chillier and the days shorter, my workout routine could use a little bit of an adjustment. I spent my summer days outside going for walks/runs and exploring my neighborhood while working up a sweat. Now that I’m going back to working in an office and left with little sunlight by the time I get out, I’ve decided that it’s time to make my workout routine a little more fall friendly. I’m throwing in my baseball cap and full body sunscreen for grippy socks and a yoga mat. While I love working out at night, I find that I could make the most out of my day if I do it in the morning. I know what you’re thinking, nope I’m not working out in the morning, I’m not one of those people. Before I tried, the idea of exercising before work sounded downright awful. I couldn’t fathom crawling out of my cozy bed earlier than I needed to just so I could exercise. It seemed insane. After I tried it I realized that I loved starting my day in such a healthy way and that it allowed me to have more time to myself after the workday. If you’re interested in bringing your workout routine indoors (and away from a public gym) and getting more out of your day continue reading to see how I’ve adjusted my routine.
Dance Cardio
If you’ve been following me for a while you’d know that I love dance cardio. Not only is it fun but it also works up a great sweat and gets your heart rate up quickly. There are hundreds of free dance cardio workouts available on Youtube. I love the PopSugar Fitness dance cardio exercises that are led by Simone De La Rue. The PopSugar Fitness channel has various types of dance cardio exercises ranging from dance/kickboxing to dance/pilates.

Yoga
Morning yoga is a great way to start the day. It will allow you to calm your mind, get your body moving, and start your day on a positive note. It doesn’t have to be long, even doing 15 minutes of yoga will be enough to feel nimble and ready to conquer the day. Yoga by Adriene on Youtube has videos of all different lengths and concentrations, making there something for everyone.
Walk
If you doing a lot of physical exercise as soon as you wake up isn’t really your thing, try walking before work. This is a great exercise to do before you go out because you won’t get sweaty and tired. Use this walk as time to meditate and get energized for the day. Consider performing a morning brain dump so you can make the experience meditative and emotionally productive.
As more people are adjusting to working in an office again, this is the perfect time to revamp your workout routine and make sure that it is “pre work” friendly. These simple yet effective exercises are the perfect way to start your morning. Do you prefer exercising the morning or after work? Comment below.
