Coffee With A Side Of Mindfulness

I’m a sucker for a good coffee shop! I love the sweet and bitter scent of a fresh cup of Joe permeating through the air. I love the first sip of coffee in the morning, thick and creamy. Whenever a new coffee shop opens up near me I’m always eager to try it out. When The Mindful Cafe & Learning Center opened up in Ramsey, NJ a couple years ago I was eager to try it out, although somehow I never made it over there until this month! Now that I finally made it, I’m happy that I did.

The cafe is very unique. Unlike most coffee shops, it offers much more than avocado toast and a latte. The Mindful Cafe offers homeschool services and along with various baked good and sandwiches they also sell soaps, essential oils, and some jewelry. Because of these features I find that the cafe has a very growth oriented vibe. I love that it encourages mindfulness as well as education. When I have daydreamed about my future family I have always imagined homeschooling them. The fact that this cafe offers a very chill homeschool experience, stands out to me as a major plus.

The first time I came here I ordered an iced vanilla oat milk latte (lol) and summer avocado toast. The avocado toast has guacamole, goat cheese, pickled shallots on Balthazar Sour Dough. I absolutely LOVED my food. The coffee was so delicious and I was pleasantly surprised that they offered oat milk. It was so creamy and very good quality. I also loved that the avocado toast because it tasted very fresh and it was more creative than the average, plain avocado toast that most restaurants offer. If you’re ever in the North Jersey area I highly recommend visiting this cafe!
