As you guys know, trying a new coffee shop is one of my favorite things to do. Coffee shops typically have such a charming and cozy vibe. This week I re-tried one that I haven’t visited in over a year, Longfellow Coffee. I visited the Longfellow location in Mahwah, NJ (the town I attended college in. Shoutout Ramapo!) right on Franklin Turnpike. They company also has a drive-thru location in Kinnelon, NJ. Even though I went to school right in town, the bustling nature of the street, mixed with the unpretentious exterior design, makes Longfellow easy to miss.

When you walk into the tiny shop you’ll instantly be acquainted with sweet yet strong smell of freshly ground coffee beans and you will also find yourself face to face with delicious pastries (gluten free and vegan options are available). The most recent time that I went I ordered an oatmilk vanilla latte and a brownie inspired zucchini bread. The zucchini bread was absolutely delicious! The chocolate was so rich and creamy. To be honest, I wasn’t too impressed with the coffee, I found it to be a little watery. Although I’m not a huge fan of the coffee, they do have some really cool menu items. You can find everything from basic black coffee to a mushroom infused chai tea (I tried a sip and it was surprisingly good!).
Overall, I love the vibe of the shop and I think they have some really great pastries and desserts. I probably wouldn’t go back again for the coffee, but I am willing to try a tea and another pastry!

The interior of the cafe looks really cozy and appropriate for spending long hours reading books. In this setting i think i would love to have a hot chocolate mocha on a cold winter day.
