5 Healthy Tips For A More Productive Day

Don’t we all just want to live a little better? I know I do. Living a more productive, intentional life does not mean you have to make drastic, scary changes. Small, consistent adjustments will help you to live a more productive life. Implementing healthy tips in your routine will help you to accomplish more and allow you to feel better mentally and physically, which improves your overall bodily function. Keep reading to find out which 5 tips will help you to have an elevated day.

Wake Up Early

Waking up early is key to getting tasks checked off your to-do list. When you wake up early and give yourself time, you allow yourself to be on top of everything, instead of having to run around trying to get back on track throughout the day. When I wake up early I feel more centered and act from a healthy place. In this place I am able to make smarter choices such as eating better, working out, and getting work done instead of procrastinating.

Eat Breakfast

It’s the most important meal of the day for a reason! Studies have shown that eating breakfast improves your energy levels and ability to concentrate in the short term, can help with weight management, and reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes and heart disease. Having breakfast also helps to add some type of structure to your morning and I am a believer that structure and routine makes for a healthy mind. Your breakfast doesn’t have to be anything extravagant, even just having a slice of toast and some avocado on the side will do wonders!

Journal

Journaling is a great way to stay centered and in charge of your day. It’s really easy to get lost in the craziness of that day and allow your emotions and mindset to be swayed by those around you. Journaling throughout the day allows you to come out of the stream in your head and see your day in a more rational way. If you feel yourself becoming anxious throughout the day take some time to grab a piece of paper and write your feelings down. Write down how you feel emotionally and also physically. For example, if you feel anxious, write down the feeling you feel in your stomach. Observing and making note of your feelings allows you to have power over them.

Get Your Body Moving

The body is meant to be moved. If you want a healthy body and mind, you will need to allow your body to move in the way that it was designed to. Many of us live our lives feeling sore, tense, or in pain in some way. Allow your body to move in the way that it was designed to by staying active. A 20 minute walk during the day will do wonders for your mental and physical health. Taking a walk in the early morning is a great way to get exercise in while staying centered. You will find that doing this will cause for you to have a more mindful morning and therefore allow you to make more intentional choices throughout the day.

No Electronics An Hour Before Bed

Did you know that your body works even while it’s asleep? The body repairs and retains information while you are sleeping. Because of this, what you do before bed really matters. If you fall asleep right after comparing yourself to others on Instagram, your mind will still be playing those negative thoughts and carrying negative energy while you are asleep at night. In order to avoid comparison stealing your joy, turn off electronics an hour before bedtime. Instead, opt to do something more peaceful like reading your favorite book, meditating, journaling, etc. This will allow you to end your day on a positive, encouraged note. Another benefit of logging off social media an hour before bedtime is that you eyes will have a rest from the harmful blue light that is emitted from your screens. Catch some zzz’s and protect your eyes. Win-win!
