5 Simple Steps To Improve Your Life In 1 Month

I have fallen into a bit of a personal development rut. Let me explain. During the more intense part of the pandemic, when I was home without an inkling of when I wouldn’t be again, I decided to go full force transform mode. Life seemed so fragile and fleeting and I wanted to make sure that I took advantage of every bit of it. To do so fully, I decided that I had to be the elevated, ideal version of myself. Let me tell you, I put in work. I watched all the things, read all the books, journaled all the prompts. And you know what? It was great… until it wasn’t. After a while I started to feel a bit burnt out. I was consuming a ton of personal development content and I got to a place where I was consuming so much that nothing major was really sticking. I then made the decision to stop consuming all together for a little while. I bought non fictions books, watched regular vlogs, and even retired my journal for a bit. In hindsight, I can see that I needed this break and I am grateful for it. It has allowed me to live more and feel less bad about myself for not always showing up and performing at my absolute best. Now that I have had this break, I think it is time for me to get back on the bandwagon. I can see how I have been slacking and it has become pretty clear that in certain areas of my life I would have been in a different place if I would have kept going. It’s time for a reset routine.

This routine is basically to get myself back on track and ensure that my actions are as intentional as I would desire them to be. A reset routine is basically making a plan of what you will implement into your routine to help you achieve your goals and get to healthy place mentally and physically.

These simple 5 steps are so powerful. I know if I follow this consistently I will be in a much better place in a month.

Wake up early

When I was younger I never enjoyed waking up early. It felt like such a drag and I just wanted to be comfy and cozy in my bed until I absolutely needed to get out. Now that I am older, I have come to truly appreciate waking up early and getting my day started. Not only do I feel really good when I get up and get moving, but I also find that waking up early helps me to make other better decisions throughout the day.

Save money

Saving money doesn’t work if you only save once in awhile. Who knew! But seriously, my spending habits have been a bit out of control and I am ready to have a savings account that I can be proud of again. Instead of recklessly buying more clothes and accessories, I am putting that money in my savings account. This will help me to save for my future and also help me to be more discipline.

Spend 30 Minutes Outdoors Daily

It’s not secret that spending time outdoors does wonders for the body and mind. I want to spend at least 30 minutes a day outdoors so that I can give my body and mind the love and care that it needs to function properly.

Exercise Daily

Exercise is key to so many body and mind issues. I feel so good mentally and physically when I exercise on a daily basis. I find that I think more rationally and have higher self confidence when I get my body moving. I am starting to do yoga at a local studio, and dance cardio and strength training at home.

Limit Social Media

Social media basically has the exact opposite effect of exercise (goodbye mental health and body confidence), which is why I am limiting it. I have deleted the Instagram app from my phone and my goal as of now is to only go on if I want to post something. Over the years, Instagram has negatively impacted the way that I view my body and my accomplishments. Feeling this way will only ever make me feel stuck.

I hope you guys can benefit from my reset routine. Hopefully it has inspired you to reset your own routine and be more intentional with your actions. Comment below what you do when you want to get back on track.

I also wanted to mention that I added a “Life Through My Eyes” page to my blog! This is a gallery where I will share fun photos that I’ve taken. Check it out and let me know what you think.
