Journaling Exercise: What’s On Your Joy List?

It’s that time of day! Time to break out your journal and learn a little more about yourself while practicing mindfulness. Sometimes it can be difficult to know what to journal about, so here’s a prompt that will allow you to get in touch with yourself and lead you to living your best life. I challenge you to write your joy list. A joy list is simply a list of anything you do that sparks joy, big or small. Maybe it’s drinking a cup of coffee by yourself on the porch in the morning or maybe it’s staying at your favorite resort in Jamaica. Look at your life and notice which actions and experiences make you feel happy to be alive. The purpose of this exercise is to have you slow down and recognize all the beauty that is around you as well as to recognize which small actions you can incorporate into your daily day. Incorporating five small joyful actions daily will make a big difference in your overall wellbeing and quality of your life. Each day should filled with as much beauty as possible so it’s important to be intentional about the actions that you take. Comment below what’s on your joy list.

  1. My joy list is being able to do what I want, despite the pandemic killing all my job opportunities as a writer. So there’s something I have to be grateful about. Thanks for sharing this!
